Food Demonstration And Bazaar
A Food Demonstration and Bazaar was organised by the Nutrition unit in collaboration with the Diet unit at the premises of the Shai-Osudoku District Hospital. The event targeted the pregnant women at the Antenatal Clinic of the hospital as during pregnancy, women are at risk of becoming anaemic.
The purpose of this event was to educate the target population on how to combine the various food groups. These are staple foods, plant protein, animal protein, and fruits and vegetables in their meals to maintain and improve upon their nutritional health.
The food exhibited included: soybean yam, kontomire with fish powder, agushie and egg; dawadawa jollof with fish, meat and chicken; millet kenkey with gravy and fish; beetroot banku with gravy and fish; millet drink with local spices and tamarind drink.
